Rajdhani – The King of Thalis is back again and this time with a winter food festival. This festival runs from 15th December to 30th December.
I was recently invited to try out their new introductions for the festival and here’s a brief summary of my experience.
The concept this time is to have one special sabji from the food festival clubbed along with the regular thali. This sabji is paired with a special roti and a dessert to go with. There will be 6 different sabjis on a rotational basis and I got to taste all of them.
I had the Surti Undhiyu with Puri and Kesar Rabdi Jalebi. A nice medley of vegetables with fluffy and hot puris and decadent rabdi jalebis. The Haldi Nu Shaak had some smashed vegetables in turmeric and served with a makai roti and goond ka ladoo.
There was another one called Sarson Shalgam ki Sabji with Moong Rotla and a Gujarati Kachariyu ladoo. The Lilva Dana Sabji was served with a Bajra Rotla and Khajur Ladoo. If you love your greens, you are going to dig right into this.
The Ker Sangri Kofta served with the Matki Rotla and Mewa Kachori was my favourite from the lot. I loved the flavourful curry and the delicate koftas. The Methi ka Petla was served with a Jowar Rotla and a Badam Ladoo. Again, some very good flavours in the Methi ka Petla.
Apart from the above mentioned special dishes, there was a brilliantly made Dal Bati Churma, Kadi, Dal, Phulka etc. in which I found no fault whatsoever.
A big shout out to Noel from Bloomingdale PR for inviting and Indraneel and Team Rajdhani for hosting us. Do visit Rajdhani before the 30th December to try out their winter special menu.
