Effingut Brewerkz recently opened its doors to Kharadi and the love that the people of Pune showed was evident at the launch party itself. Going with the rusty automotive part theme, Effingut retains its vibe of being a bar and offering an Effingut experience. The Kharadi outlet is not as big as the other two outlets but has an alfresco and indoor seating.
I got to taste a lot of new introductions to the menu at a recently conducted tasting and Effingut did not let us down.
The Crispy Chicken Bites served with a tangy dip were perfect to go with your beers / coke. The Loaded BBQ Potatoes, a PEO special were thick cut fries covered in barbecue sauce and smothered in cheese sauce and the smoky flavor of the BBQ sauce made this dish stand out.
We tried the spring rolls served with a hot garlic dip in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions. The chicken version stood out for me while the pastry for the spring roll was wafer thin and didn’t retain a lot of oil. The dip too complimented the spring roll very nicely.
The Threaded Cottage Cheese were simply amazing. The soft cottage cheese covered in crispy threads makes for a killer combination.
We also tried the Kathi rolls which were one of the new additions to the menu. The Mexican Cottage Cheese kathi roll had crushed cottage cheese and salsa with the typical Mexican flavors while the Thecha Chicken kathi roll had well cooked and succulent pieces of chicken marinated in thecha. I felt the thecha wasn’t spicy enough and hence preferred dipping my roll into the bowl of thecha for that added zing.
The 4 cheese pizza had orange cheddar, parmesan, scamorza and mozzarella cheese. It was gooey and cheesy, the taste of tomato sauce wasn’t lost in all the cheese, the thin crust was crispy and this pizza passed my pizza test.
The Hazelnut Cheesecake was absolutely sinful. The crunch of the nuts in each bite and the heavenly cheesecake was a delight.
The Hefeweizen Banana Trifle had the award winning Hefeweizen however I could not get any flavor of the beer. Nonetheless, it tasted awesome.
Apart from these newly introduced items, Effingut continues to serve all their regular items with their superfast service and offers the Effingut experience. The Effinber offer continues here as well offering flat 30% off on Monday to Friday between 12.30pm to 7pm. A big shout out to Manu Gulati, Manu Misra, Sanika Kelkar and Team Effingut for inviting and hosting us.
