Kadar Khan’s Sheesha recently opened up doors to public in the now livening-up Ishanya Mall, Yerwada. Kadar Khan who is an ex-ITC chef and associated with popular brands like The Mumbai Taj, ITC Maurya etc. We were recently invited for a tasting and here’s a brief of my experience.

Mutton Seekh

Mutton Galauti

The Mutton Galauti and Mutton Seekh Kebab were really good. The kebabs were succulent, tender and cooked perfectly. I can safely say these were a meat lover’s delight.

Strawberry Surprise

For drinks, I tried the Strawberry Surprise which had strawberry crush, vanilla ice cream and milk. It was sweet as per my liking.

Chicken Tangdi Kulfi

Chicken Lebanese Tikka

The Chicken Tangdi Kulfi & Chicken Lebanese Tikka had used a base of sauce and cheese. It turned out to be a little messy and I also wasn’t quite impressed with the flavor profiles for both.

Murgh Jalandhari Tikka

The Murgh Jalandhari Tikka was pretty good with well cooked chicken and a sharp flavor. The slightly charred edges of the chicken enhanced the texture.

Paneer Shashlik

The Paneer Shashlik tasted brilliant. A special mention to the soft cubes of paneer that melted in the mouth. The flavors were well balanced and the charred edges of the chicken again enhanced the texture.

The starters were served on a sizzler plate on a bed of cabbage and this is something I felt Team Sheesha can work on. Since the heat from the sizzler plate is a lot, the kebabs tend to go dry a lot faster and it isn’t that aesthetically appealing either.

The Mains

For mains, we had Mutton Rogan Josh, Murgh Matka, Paneer Khurchan and Dal Bukhara. The Murgh Matka was really good with a brownish medium spicy gravy while the Rogan Josh was so delicious that it got Bacon Baba drooling over the dish.

The Dal Bukhara is one of Sheesha’s specialty. Slow cooked urad dal over tandoor for more than 18 hours makes this Dal Bukhara creamy, velvety and truly special. One of the must try dishes here.

I wasn’t too keen on the desserts after a humongous helping of the Dal Bukhara but you can read about how the Shahi Tukda and Lahsoon ki Kheer tasted in Maanas’ or Baconbaba’s experience.
