Sante Spa promises to deliver healthy food and changes your perception about healthy food. Most people think healthy food doesn’t taste as good as the usual junk food but Sante Spa has changed my thoughts and I can surely say that healthy food is equally delicious.
We were invited for a food tasting and right from the moment we entered, I could tell that a lot of effort has gone into setting up the place as well as curating the menu. Here’s a brief summary of our experience at the tasting.
We opted for some of their healthy drinks like Spinach Spearmint Pineapple and Dark Chocolate.
The Spaghetti of Vegetables Salad had veggies like roasted peppers cut in the shape of spaghetti with melon seeds and dressed with a pickled mango vinaigrette. The flavor of every individual element shone out in this dish.
The Southern Spiced Low Fat Cottage Cheese Sautee was a little bland by itself but when had with the watermelon chutney, it tasted even more delicious.
The Quinoa Salad with Feta Cheese was easily the star of the evening. Apples, walnuts, cranberries, quinoa and Danish feta combined together to make a formidable salad and I couldn’t resist polishing off the plate. This coming from a non-salad person says a lot.
The Beetroot & Spinach Hummus was served with whole wheat khakra chips and extra virgin olive oil. It was a good change from the regular hummus to the beetroot and spinach ones.
The Farm Fresh Pizza was a stone grilled base of ragi and whole wheat topped with olives, jalapenos, sundried tomatoes and vegetables. Interestingly, the combination of healthy and pizza actually worked and the pizza tasted quite good. The individual flavor of each ingredient shone out in the pizza.
The Pizza Verde was a stone grilled base of ragi and whole wheat topped with capers, zucchini, spinach, broccoli, fenugreek and arugula basil pesto. The pesto lover in me was very happy with this pizza.
The Bajra Riso had mungo spinach and green beans in a rich creamy sauce. Although the sauce was brilliant, the sprouts were a turn down for me.
Sante Spa has offered the ultimate solution and made the desserts healthy. You can now commit sin without having to think of the repercussions because you aren’t going to put on weight by having that extra spoonful. The Low Fat Raspberry Cheesecake, Salted Caramel Mud Cake, Valrhona Chocolate Pie, Chocolate Matcha Truffles, Almond Cherry Muesli Ice Cream were all delicious and impressive desserts.
A big shout out to Nitish for inviting & Sonal and Team Sante Spa for hosting us.
