India Fashion Walk has been envisioned to transform into one of India’s most prime fashion events that will put the local and national designers on the fashion map of India through this platform. Recently, India Fashion Walk was set in motion at the Mercedes-Benz Trinity Motors showroom in Kalyani Nagar along with the success of the Mercedes-Benz GLA that completed the Great overLand Adventure.
The evening saw designs from several Pune designers like Shweta Divgi, Mystic Quartz by Tanvi Ejrekar, Runway Ready by Prerna & Justine, a grand finale by Jhelum Fashion House and footwear sponsored by Nupur Chaudhuri.
Abstract, ethnic and westernised designs in lehenga choli, gowns, salwar suits, tube gowns, blazers, sleeveless jackets enthralled everyone at the event.
The Mercedes Benz GLA was flagged by Mr. Ranjan Sen, CEO & Mr. Gaurav Ghatge, Executive Director from Mercedes-Benz Trinity Motors.
Entitled as the ‘Great overLand Adventure (GLA), the ‘India Made’ GLA was put to a realistic endurance test as it travelled across varied geographies and climates across the globe. The GLA which rolled-out of Mercedes-Benz India’s Pune production plant traversed across six continents, seventeen countries and clocked more than 50,000kms before returning to Pune.
The Mercedes Benz GLA has a distinct SUV proportion and its striking front end assures a self-assured presence. The GLA gives a sense of fluid dynamism through its striking design from headlamps, along the sides to its rear axle.

- Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC
The special Activity Edition model of the GLA provides enhanced driving pleasure and comfort with practical details as well as coordinated exterior and interior features.
With the off-road comfort suspension with its own steering set-up, the vehicle body is raised by 30 millimetres. This makes for improved off-road capability as a result of the higher ground clearance, higher seat position with improved visibility and a more distinctive off-road look. The expressive visual appearance is underscored by 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, dark chrome inserts in the side sill panels and side decals. The exclusive interior of the special model impresses with high-grade materials, such as ARTICO man-made leather and embroidered floor mats with “ACTIVITY EDITION” lettering.
The GLA 200 d has an output of 100 kW (136 hp) and gives a class leading fuel efficiency of 17.9 km/l. With up to 300 Nm of torque, it offers an effortlessly superior driving experience. Overtaking manoeuvres are performed with astounding ease born of refined power. The latest generation of common rail direct injection enables efficient combustion and exceptionally smooth and quiet running.
The outstanding performance and efficiency of the Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC is a result of extensive development work. The innovative AMG 2.0-litre 4-cylinder bi-turbo engine produces 280 kW (381 hp). The high performance engine generates 475 Nm of torque, thus accelerating the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in a staggering 4.8 seconds only.
The high-performance engine is fully hand-crafted according to the traditional AMG philosophy “one man, one engine” – as indicated by the AMG engine plate bearing the signature of the responsible AMG technician.

Nishant Shekhawat, Director, WFT India was quoted saying, “We conceptualised this event in order to bring forward the talent of designers from Tier 2 cities, as well as to help them seamlessly connect with media, buyers and the direct consumers. The main idea is to help enhance the business of fashion for them as well as for the hosting city.”
A wine and cheese session catered by Grandiose Hospitality and attended by luminaries, local celebrities, entrepreneurs and business owners marked the end of a colossal and colorful event.
