Hard Rock Café brings to you the World Burger Tour 2016 which kicks off from the 1 June, 2016 and runs on until the 31st July, 2016. It is called the World Burger Tour because the burgers have been inspired by different countries from all around the world and prepared using the prominent vegetables and spices from those countries. This burger tour is across all the outlets in the country. This is accompanied by a Burgerthon – A speed eating burger contest wherein the fastest person to finish a burger all over the country wins.
Thanks to my fellow blogger chugnchow a.k.a. Arvind Soju and Akshata Rao, Communicate India, I got a chance to attend the preview of the burgers on the International Hamburger Day.
We began with the Caribbean Veg. Burger which had brown lentil and vegetable patty with cheddar cheese, quinoa relish and sunflower seeds. The patty by itself was really good and the burger was pretty decent.
The Mexican Quesadilla Veg. Burger had a polenta, spices, sweet corn, beans and vegetable patty with tangy salsa, avocado, nacho straws and the swiss cheese. The sheer quantity of the condiments lost me the Burgerthon where I finished third. But if this burger was given to me on a normal day, it was absolutely amazing. The patty was a little dry and needed a better binding agent but the moistness from the condiments was enough to control the balance.
The Lebanese Veg. Burger had a falafel green patty with Lebanese spices and topped off with lettuce, tomato, garlic aioli, hummus sauce, pickle and cheddar cheese. The patty here was wonderful with an amazing texture. The hummus, pickle and garlic aioli could be distinctly tasted as well. I definitely liked this one!
The Mediterranean Veg. Burger was essentially a beetroot patty with mango aioli, cheddar and spinach slaw. This turned out to be pretty average for me because the patty broke down and made it difficult to hold the burger and neither did the mango aioli nor the spinach slaw go well with the beetroot.
The Istanbul Kafta Burger had a shawarama spice infused chicken patty with lettuce, tomato, garlic hummus aioli and was topped off with sautéed onions, mushrooms, peppers and feta cheese. The burger was decent but I something to cut through the saltiness from the feta cheese would have been great.
The star of the day was the Italian Chicken Burger and was hands down loved by all of us. It had an Italian spice infused chicken patty with really subtle flavours and a golden panko crusted cheddar cheese. It was topped off with a spicy and tangy sundried aioli and an Italian relish. The fried cheddar was delightful and the flavours extracted from the condiments and spices packed a punch in my mouth.
The Indian Tandoori Chicken Burger was created much more to the liking of the Indian palate. With tandoori spices infused in the tender & succulent chicken patty and topped off with lettuce, tomato, cheddar, cucumber and mint mayo, this one pretty much impressed me.
The Miami Cuban Burger had a Cuban spiced patty, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese and was topped off with crispy onions. Firstly, I was blown away by the sheer majestic size of the patty itself and when I took my first bite, it was so juicy and tender, that put together with cheddar, I wished to have this burger all the time.
All the burgers came along with a side of well-seasoned fries which were fantastic for me. There was a wide array of cocktails and being a teetotaller, I enjoyed clicking the photos.
